Sarah Geronimo on Sudden Cancellation of 'Sarah G. Live': Malungkot but I need to move forward."
During Thursday's interview with the press on the photo shoot for the singing reality show "The Voice of the Philippines" where she is set to seat as one of the judges, Sarah Geromino admitted that her Sunday musical variety show "Sarah G Live!" will be airing its finale episode this Sunday, February 10.
"May lungkot siyempre kasi espesyal sa akin ang show. Nag-grow din ako as an artist, as a person, sa show na 'yon at napamahal sa akin ang 'Sarah G Live' family," Sarah said, adding "Pero kailangang mag-move forward. Sabi ko nga po, as a performer, ang importante ay magkaroon po ng pagkakataon na may maipakitang bago every time you go up on stage,"
But Sarah is set to show a different side of her multi-faceted persona as one of the coach-judges of the Philippine version of the U.S. talent search "The Voice."
"Sobrang honored po to be chosen as one of the coaches or judges for 'The Voice.' Siyempre initially na-surprised ako. Kumbaga malaking task or responsibility itong pagiging mentor pero I take the challenge. Alam ko na mago-grow din ako dito. Isang malaking karangalan na maging parte o bahagi ng success kung sino man ang magiging The Voice of the Philippines," she said.
Although she is considered as one of the best performers in the country, Sarah also acknowledged that she's still young to be a coach for upcoming singers.
"Pero huwag po kayong mag-alala, iniisip ko din po 'yon. Pero inimbitahan po ako at masama naman pong tanggihan at ang importante diyan ay 'yung sincerity ko na makatulong o maibahagi ang alam ko sa pagkanta at sa pagpe-perform," she said.
The Popstar said her main goal is to discover genuine singing talent.
"Siyempre hahanapin natin 'yung pure talent talaga. Kaya natutuwa ako sa 'The Voice,' lalo na sa blind auditions kasi hindi ka huhusgahan sa looks mo. Talagang ang unang maririnig ay 'yung voice mo talaga," said Sarah, who knows how it feels to be a contestant because she's also a product of singing show.
But since "The Voice" will air in the second quarter, Sarah said she will first appear in a drama anthology.
"Before po nitong 'The Voice' mayroon kaming drama anthology muna. Babalikan muna natin ang pag-arte at hopefully ay makatulong din sa growth ko as an actress," she said.
Aside from the drama series, Sarah is also shooting "It Takes A Man And A Woman," the third installment of her romantic-comedy film series with John Lloyd Cruz.
