ABS-CBN 2012 Christmas Special 'Liwanag ng Pasko' Airs Tonight! Dec 15th 2012, 07:46 Kapamilya stars illuminated the entire Smart Araneta Coliseum for the annual Kapamilya Christmas special showcasing the network's stellar cast in full force. Non-stop cheers of friends and fans thundered as the well-loved Kapamilyas performed and hosted the show. The network's big bosses were present to witness the spectacle of performances at the two-part special "Liwanag ng Pasko : The 2012 ABS-CBN Christmas Special," which will air this December 15 (Saturday) andDecember 16 (Sunday) at 9:30 pm. With hosts Boy Abunda, Ai-ai de las Alas, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Robi Domingo and Venus Raj, the show opened with "Ang Kwento ng Pasko Noon at Ngayon" narrated by John Lloyd Cruz followed by Christmas songs played by marching bands and the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra lead by Ryan Cayabyab. The stage was heated up by the "ABS-CBN rockers" Bamboo, Nyoy Volante, Sam Milby, Vina Morales, Paolo Valenciano, Jovit Valdivino, Karylle, Sam Concepcion, Yeng Constantino and Aiza Seguerra who did a medley of popular rock songs that everyone sang along with Gary Valenciano lead in a powerful number, a Christmas gospel medley with the "Kapamilya kids" and the Hail Mary the Queen Choir. The Star Magic family rendered a grand production number participated in by their stunning men and women dressed in gowns and suits while doing a medley of popular dances, while the others sang. Non-stop songs and dances followed after and as a finale, Jed Madela went "Gangnam Style" together with the "Kapamilya Comedians" including Ryan Bang, Jayson, Melai, Pooh and Pokwang. The lead stars in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival did a special number. In tow were Enchong Dee, Julia Montes and Enrique Gil for the film "The Strangers", Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo for "One More Try" and Vice Ganda did a stand-up comedy to promote "Sisterakas" with co-stars Kris Aquino and Aiai de las Alas. The audience went crazy when the top-rating teleserye stars went up the stage who sang to the tune of favorite love songs. These love teams were Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo and Enrique Gil of "Princess and I;" Ella Cruz, Francis Magundayao and Paul Salas of "Aryana;" Matteo Guidicelli and Jessy Mediola of "Precious Hearts Romances presents Paraiso;" Maja Salvador, Enchong Dee, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim of "Ina, Kapatid, Anak;" Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap of "Be Careful With My Heart;" Dawn Zulueta, Richard Gomez, Julia Montes and Paulo Avelino of "Walang Hanggan;" John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo and John Estrada of "A Beautiful Affair;" Piolo Pascual, Angelica Panganiban and Diether Ocampo of upcoming teleserye "Apoy Sa Dagat". "Kapamilya singers" Zsa-Zsa Padilla, Martin Nievera, Karylle, Richard Poon, Christian Bautista, Jericho Rosales, Sitti, Princess, Juris, Kean Cipriano Aiza Seguerra and Zia Quizon and "Star Magic singers" Jovit Baldivino, Vina Morales, K-La Rivera, JM Rodriguez, Yeng Constantino, Bugoy Drilon, Marcelito Pomoy, Jed Madela, Eric Santos, Carla Guevarra, Liezl Garcia and Angeline Quinto serenaded everyone with their wonderful voices. The "Kapamila Gift-Together" was launched that evening. It helps you stay connected with your loved ones abroad by sending them your Christmas wish list . And for our overseas Kapamilyas, this is a unique and a Kapamilya way of sending gifts to loved ones in the Philippines. Songs which became popular during the year were performed by Toni Gonzaga, KC Concepcion, Nikki Gil, Jhong Hilario, Iya Villania, Gab Valenciano, Jugz, Teddy and Gloc 9 . This number made everyone stand on their feet to sing and dance along. The loudest applause was given to a special number by four of our world-class Filipina divas, Lea Salonga, Lani Misalucha, Sarah Geronimo and Angeline Quinto who were brought together on stage for the first time. The loudest shrills were heard during the "Kapamilya leading men" segment where each actor sang an excerpt from songs by Pinoy 90s bands. They surprised their audience by giving cards and flowers to chosen ladies from the audience. Piolo Pascual handed over his card and flower to ABS-CBN president and CEO-elect Charo Santos-Concio. The "Kapamilya leading ladies" will not miss the chance to show the audience what they've got by rendering a classic yet sexy dance number. The "Dramatic Divas" Maricel Soriano, Dawn Zulueta and Judy Ann Santos also sang for their loyal followers. The Kapamilya's newest teleseryes for 2013 were also introduced that night — "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw" which stars Robin Padilla, Kris Aquino and Anne Curtis; "May Isang Pangarap" of new child stars bagong Sarah Labrosa and Julia Base, together with Carmina Villaroel and Vina Morales; "Apoy Sa Dagat" starring Piolo, Angelica and Diether and "Juan de la Cruz" headed by Coco Martin. Some heart-warming vtrs were also shown – teary-eyed Pokwang and Goin' Bulilit kids who visited some cancer patients and video greetings from kababayans abroad who all miss their loved ones in the country. Through TFC, they feel like they're home this Christmas. The evening's highlight was ABS-CBN president and CEO-elect Charo Santos-Concio's speech which emphasized Jesus as the Prince of Light who is the reason for our celebration. ABS-CBN chairman and CEO Gabby Lopez and ABS-CBN channel 2 head Cory Vidanes went up the stage for the finale number of the Christmas station id and sang along with the Kapamilya stars and performers.
