Nora Aunor and Eddie Garcia are nominated for Best Actress and Best Actor, respectively, at the 55th Asia Pacific Film Festival 2012 to be held in Macau.
Happening on December 13 to 16 at the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel, the Asia Pacific Film Festival should not be mistaken for the Australia-based Asia Pacific Screen Awards which Nora Aunor won Best Actress and Brillante Mendoza won Best Director, recently. It’s a Chinese initiative which started in 1954 and participated by 18 countries in Asia-Pacific.
Nora is nominated for Best Actress for her portrayal in “Thy Womb” while Eddie Garcia is nominated in the Best Actor category for his performance in “Bwakaw,” the country’s official entry in the 2013 Academy Awards (Oscars).
Last year, our very own Ms. Anita Linda won Best Actress in the said festival for the Brillante Mendoza film “Lola.”
