Sarah Geronimo Wins 1st Best Asian Artist for PH at the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards Dec 1st 2012, 04:54 After her recent victory at the 2012 Awit Awards and 2012 Aliw Awards, The Popstar Princess–Sarah Geronimo–is now hailed Best Asian Artist in the Philippines at the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) on Friday night, November 30, at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre. The Mnet Asian Music Awards (commonly abbreviated as MAMA) is one of the major K-pop music awarding ceremonies and perhaps the most important event in South Korea’s music industry. It is being held annually, involving the participation of popular K-Pop stars. Because of the tremendous popularity of Korean pop stars all over Asia, the Mnet Asian Music Awards widen its reach by including categories for Best Asian Artist in selected countries like Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan and the Philippines. The first awardee for the Best Asian Artist in the Philippines is no less than Sarah Geronimo. For the same category, the other winners are Agnes Monica for Indonesia, My Tam for Vietnam, Taufik Batisah for Singapore, Li Yuchun for China, AKB48 for Japan and Wang Leehom for Taiwan.
