Survivor Philippines Winner Announced Dec 17th 2012, 08:27 Survivor Philippines Winner Announced After 39 days, 15 Tribal Councils, 14 episodes, and 2 Russell Swan meltdowns, Denise Stapley - the 41-year-old sex therapist from Iowa - was named the winner of the hit CBS reality show Survivor: Philippines on Sunday night,  December 16. Stapley outwit and outplay professional speaker and author Michael Skupin and former Facts of Life star Lisa Whelchel to earn the title of Sole Survivor and win $1-M. Meanwhile, Whelchel was named the Sprint player of the season, earning her a $100,000 prize. She beat fourth-place finisher Malcom Freberg by less than 1 percent for the fan-voted award.
