Half-Filipino Half-Italian Jon Orlando may not have won TV5′s “Artista Academy,” but he’s the first alum of the said artista search to appear in a movie. He is set to be introduced in the Regal Films-produced erotic thriller “Seduction.”

Jon Orlando was raised in Canada by his Filipina mother and Italian father. When they came back to the Philippines, the 19-year-old mestizo joined “Artista Academy” on TV5 and became part of the Top 16 from thousands of aspirants who auditioned.

Although he was eliminated during the artista search’s 4th live exam, it did not stop Jon to achieve his dream to become an actor. As a matter of fact, he bagged a role in the Peque Gallaga movie “Seduction” starring Richard Gutierrez, Sarah Lahbati and Solenn Heussaff, and will become the first among his colleagues to appear on the big screen.

Jon’s character in the said movie is very mysterious. He plays the role of Marcel, a half-French half-Filipino camera man who will be emotionally attached to Solenn Heussaff‘s character.

Although it was his first project as an actor, Jon admitted that he got a little nervous in the beginning but was able to adjust afterwards because his co-stars, Richard and Solenn, guided him all throughout the movie.

“Hindi mahirap ‘yung adjustment because I like change. I like to get experience as much as I can. At first, siyempre ‘yung first day ko was like ‘O My God’ kahit kay Solenn kahit kay Kuya Richard it’s like, di ba, sila sikat ako sino ako di ba? Pero they’re all so warm and welcoming sa akin sa set, they say ‘take your time’ and ‘we’ll show you this and that,’ di ko na-feel any intimidation, parang family talaga kami,” he said during a pocket presscon held at Robinson’s Galleria on Monday, January 21.

One of the things Jon discovered about himself after filming “Seduction” is that he likes acting on the big screen more than on television.

“I found out that I actually prefer movies over TV kasi I like the work ethic na it’s more, I find it more passionate in the arts unlike in TV it’s kinda like let’s get it done where movies is like take your time and do it right so I actually enjoyed it more that I thought I would,” he shared.

Since “Seduction” is an erotic thriller, does Jon have a daring scene in the movie?

“May sexy scene but it’s not a sex scene, it’s surprise ‘yun lang, I don’t wanna give away too much. Basta sa bed kasama si Solenn. Si Solenn naka-bikini siya, which any guy my age would love to be in that situation,” he said.
