Seven years after he got the biggest recognition of becoming the first Filipino to win as Grand Champion in the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA), Jed Madela is again set to receive bigtime recognition that gives credit and values his notable achievements and contribution to music.
The 32-year-old Kapamilya singer is set to fly to Los Angeles in July not just to perform during the awarding ceremony of the 17th annual WCOPA on July 19 but also to personally receive his Hall of Fame Award from the same worldwide music competition.
"I got the news from World Championships a few weeks ago na ihahanay na nila ako sa Hall of Fame nila as one of the artsits nila na ina-award nila. I'm the first Filipino and first na contestant ng World Championships na ii-induct nila sa Hall of Fame," Jed told ABS-CBN News.
Jed is the first Filipino to be inducted into the Hall of Fame of WCOPA ranking him alongside Hollywood's actress-singer Liza Minnelli.
Aside from the said award, Jed also announced that he closed a recording deal in the United States.
