The premiere telecast of actor Coco Martin‘s newest series “Juan dela Cruz” ruled the national TV ratings on Monday.

“Masaya po at successful ang first day namin. Pati ‘yung rating at feedback ng tao,” Martin said during the press conference for his film “A Moment In Time” with leading lady Julia Montes on Tuesday afternoon.

Billed as the biggest “teleserye” of the Kapamilya network this year, “Juan dela Cruz” stars Martin as the title character, a “Filipino-made superhero.”

It tells the story of Juan as he struggles to find his real identity. He later takes hold of a holy cross — which shifts into four different weapons — enabling him to fight the forces of evil.

Joining Martin in the series are stars, Joel Torre, Albert Martinez, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Aaron Villaflor, Gina Pareño and leading lady Erich Gonzales.
