TV Ratings: 'Apoy Sa Dagat' Starts Strongly; 'Sarah G. Live' Ends High
The pilot episode of "Apoy sa Dagat" starring Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo and Angelica Panganiban on Monday night , February 11, was eagerly awaited by viewers as shown by the high nationwide ratings for the latest addition to ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida lineup.
According to data from multinational research group Kantar Media, the pilot episode of "Apoy sa Dagat" aired on February 11 garnered a national TV rating of 25.9%, enough to put it at No. 5 in the list of the most watched programs in the country that day.
Completing the top 5 list are the Kapamilya programs "Ina Kapatid Anak" (36.7%), "Juan dela Cruz" (35.9%), "Be Careful With My Heart" (27.4%) and "TV Patrol" (27.2%).
"Apoy sa Dagat" also stars Angel Aquino, Aiko Melendez, Sylvia Sanchez, Perla Bautista, Liza Lorena, Freddie Webb, Melai Cantiveros, Eric Fructuoso, Regine Angeles, Bryan Santos and Mikaila Ramirez.
It airs weeknights after "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" during ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block.
Meanwhile, the finale episode of Sarah Geronimo's weekly concert variety show "Sarah G. Live" won big in ratings last Sunday.
With a national TV rating of 18.6%, "Sarah G Live" figured in the top five most watched program in the country last February 10, according to data from multinational market research group Kantar Media.
The Sunday night program, which debuted on February 26, 2012, ended with the singer-actress taking on hits from Madonna ("Music") and Rihanna ("Don't Stop The Music"). Geronimo also performed "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson as her last "statement song," before emotionally bidding farewell to viewers of the show with her own hit single "Forever's Not Enough."
