After it stunned the televiewers last night, January 6, when it premiered as a full-length epic movie, “Kidlat” is now set to begin its TV series run tonight, January 7, at 6:45pm on TV5.
Fresh from the success of TV5's eco-fantasya Enchanted Garden comes another epic treat for the whole family with the much-awaited superserye “Kidlat” with Derek Ramsay suiting up for the title role. After its successful premiere as an epic movie last night, January 6, “Kidlat” begins its TV series run tonight, January 7, at 6:45 p.m. Directed by acclaimed film and television director Mike Tuviera, TV5′s newest all original production follows the story of Voltaire (Derek Ramsay), an ordinary human being with an extraordinary power. With his uncanny ability, Voltaire learns that his burden is also a gift and transforms himself into a crime-fighting superhero.
Kidlat's power is also the envy of many others and this includes his archenemy Vincent Megaton Jr. portrayed by award-winning actor Baron Geisler. Vincent is the son of Dr. Megaton, a brilliant scientist played in the series by veteran actor Christopher de Leon. Crippled and confined to his wheelchair, Vincent will find ways to rid himself of his weakness even if it means resorting to evil schemes.
Love also blooms for our superhero as he meets two incredible and beautiful ladies who change his life forever. TV5 Princess Nadine Samonte plays Lara, Voltaire's childhood sweetheart and the object of Vincent's affection. FHM cover girl Ritz Azul takes on the role of Joey, a street-smart young woman who falls in love with our hero.
Kidlat also stars Wendell Ramos as Rodel also known as Graba Man, one of the many villains Kidlat will have to face. Rounding up the cast is Jay Manalo, Assunta de Rossi, Gerard Pizarras, Spanky Manikan, Nanet Inventor, Lou Veloso, Andrea del Rosario, Erika Padilla, Rainier Castillo, Juliene Mendoza, Solomon de Guzman, Jerald Napoles, Lian Valentin, Joy Viado, Koko Desantos, Junyka Santarin, and Ms. Chanda Romero.
