Broadcast journalist Karen Davila will report how people go to great lengths to provide for their families by highlighting the conflict between two pedicab drivers in "Pinoy True Stories: Engkwentro" tomorrow afternoon (Jan 1) on ABS-CBN.
Carlito borrowed Mang Jojo's pedicab without asking permission from him to buy a tire for his own pedicab. But when he couldn't buy one, Carlito took the opportunity to pick up passengers. However, Mang Jojo missed a day's worth of earnings and didn't have money to pay for his family's meals.
"When a family's livelihood is on the line, a man's frustration with another can aggravate into a brawl," said Karen.
Mang Jojo felt he was taken advantage of by someone who he treats as his own son. The two men were brought to the barangay to appease them after engaging in a fist fight.
This Wednesday (Enero 2), meanwhile, in "Pinoy True Stories: Saklolo," Maan Macapagal and Dominic Almelor will report on the rescue of a woman and her children from a live-in partner who has been physically abusing her for six years.
The woman was barefoot and severely scarred when she arrived at the barangay hall of Bagong Silang, Caloocan and asked officials to rescue her children who were left at home with her abusive lover.
Don't miss "Engkwentro" with Karen Davila tomorrow (Jan 1) and "Saklolo" with Maan Macapagal and Dominic Almelor on Wednesday (Jan 2) on ABS-CBN, 4:45 PM in Kapamilya Gold. For updates on the two programs, follow @PinoyTruStories on Twitter.
