The home video release of the pulse-pounding action flick–”The Bourne Legacy”–which was partly shot in the Philippines, is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray formats in record and video bars nationwide.

“The Bourne Legacy” is the fourth installment in the Bourne film series, which is based on Robert Ludlum‘s Jason Bourne novels. This pulse-pounding action thriller stars Jeremy Renner (“Marvel’s The Avengers”, “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol”), Rachel Weisz (“The Mummy”, “The Constant Gardener”), and Edward Norton (“Primal Fear”, “Fight Club”), together with franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn.

The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in this next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films.

“The Bourne Legacy” is produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley with screenplay by Tony Gilroy and Dan Gilroy based on the story by Tony Gilroy. Cinematography is by Robert Elswit, music by James Newton Howard, and editing by John Gilroy.

Renner is the first to admit that the stunt work in the movie wasn't easy. He says: "This was very, very demanding. I was lucky enough because many of the fight coordinators, the stunt coordinators and Dan Bradley were on The Avengers and the three movies I did back-to-back right before this movie. Working with them was seamless. I had learned hand-to-hand combat on Avengers, so I took that over to this and actually used patterns. I had a nice running start."

Most of Renner’s stunts, by the way, was filmed in the Philippines. Other locations of the movie include New York, Canada and South Korea.

“The Bourne Legacy” had its Asian premiere at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City, Philippines on August 5, five days ahead of its opening date in North American theaters. It had a worldwide gross of $276,144,750.00.

This December, the film hits the stores via its DVD and Blu-Ray release which includes extra features like making-of shorts, deleted scenes and a filmmakers' audio commentary.
